“Hopeful, but not optimistic” continues as my refrain for modern humanity. Not for sentience, beauty, the Earth, the Kosmos, but the plight of humans themselves. If humanity makes it, it will be through the passionate kindness and caring of those who resist the fascism/oligarchy/theocracy/kleptocracy that has become our country.
Do you hear, within that last sentence, the burden of conscious action from those still awake? Resistance does not come easy for those that are lovers and not fighters. Yet we have no option, as those that prefer to be “asleep” are so easy to manipulate. I found it quite fascinating that those who live within the shadow-self sold “wokeness” as an adversarial opponent!
Please live your life within the principles of our Stress Management Series, as the overwhelm inflicted on us right now is part of the strategic attack. As a review:
Stress Unloading: Slow down, turn off all main-stream news programs. Do you remember the great quote from Mark Twain, “If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.” ? How one could logarithmically multiply the truth within this commentary! I do get a daily email “The Neutral” to keep informed, without bias.
Limit all screen time, especially social media. Your phones and tablets have become the cocaine bears in your life!
Go into the great healer, Mother Earth, with your face in the sun, the wind in your hair and your feet in the soil. Spend real time with real people.
If you don’t slow down first, you will not perceive that you have the time for meditation/meaning.
Stress Relieving: Exercise - The way we get the “angst” out of us is through movement, aerobic and resistance exercise especially helps us feel better, energize, and even sleep better! If we don’t take the time for exercise with its inherent stress-relieving properties, we live in a perpetual state of “monkey mind”. The turbulence within you will find turbulence with-out you!
Stress Reduction: Meditation - Of course meditation has always been about “self realization” and not reducing stress, however stress reduction presents as a natural side benefit of the practice. In a busy world of misinformed people, so few seem to even grasp what meaning is. The depth behind the factoid is the realm of meaningfulness. “ The goal of meditation is to see everything, exactly as it is, no manipulation” Adyashanti. Meaning.
Life without meditation allows true, authentic, meaningfulness to slip away. We, as a species, have become cavemen with nukes and not clubs! I recommended Paleo/Primal nutrition as a way to nurture ourselves, not as a complete lifestyle!
So, as I head off to the Hands Off Protest April 5th in Nashville (happening concurrently across the country), my sign will be about love and not hate. The zealots will always be able to outhate us. The lovers do need to bring it though, as hope is not enough.
